What is a Talisman Necklace?
Each talisman necklace begins with the sacred geometry of the traditional tantric necklace, a pattern rooted in ancient esoteric traditions, worn by yogic masters for centuries.
From there, I work as an apothecary of stone and spirit, drawing from crystals, mantras, blessings and land energies to create something entirely unique.
A talisman is an object shaped with intention and purpose, then completed through ritual and ceremony, a practice stretching back through countless civilisations across thousands of years. It is this act of blessing, this moment of intention spoken over the piece, that transforms it into a true talisman: one which will hold and support you on your journey.
Worn close to the heart, it acts as both shield and conduit. Protecting. Amplifying. Aligning.
Not something you simply wear, but something you enter into relationship with.
The Roots of the Pattern
The geometry at the heart of every talisman necklace has its roots in Tantra, an ancient spiritual path emerging in India between the 5th and 7th centuries.
At its essence, Tantra is the art of expansion through union, the recognition that the divine is not separate from the physical world, but fully present within it. Rather than transcending the body, Tantra invites us deeper into it. Rather than escaping the material, it asks us to honour it as sacred.
Within this philosophy, the divine masculine (Shiva) and divine feminine (Shakti) are understood as complementary forces. Their union creates balance, wholeness, and awakening.
The traditional pattern each necklace begins with is one expression of that union, existing at the meeting point of energy and form. It is the foundation every piece starts from, before ritual and blessing carry it further, into something new.
The flow of energy
The structure of a Talisman Necklace is not arbitrary.
Energy within the piece is designed to move in a diagonal “Z” pattern, a dynamic current that strengthens as it flows.
This diagonal movement mirrors principles found in both nature and sacred geometry: when force is applied across a structure at an angle, resilience and expansion increase.
As this current interacts with your own energy field, it is believed to:
- Strengthen and stabilise the aura
- Increase energetic coherence
- Support vitality and resilience
- Encourage expansion beyond habitual patterns
Like an electric current that gathers strength through motion, this flow creates a subtle but continuous field of support.
The chakra system
The body is both physical and energetic.
Within yogic tradition, this energy is understood through the chakra system: a series of centres running along the spine, each governing different aspects of our physical, emotional, and spiritual experience.
- Root Chakra — safety, grounding, belonging
- Sacral Chakra — creativity, sensuality, flow
- Solar Plexus — identity, confidence, will
- Heart Chakra — love, connection, compassion
- Throat Chakra — expression, truth
- Third Eye — intuition, perception
- Crown Chakra — awareness, unity, higher consciousness
Each crystal used within a necklace resonates with one or more of these centres.
Together, they form a kind of energetic constellation — gently encouraging balance, communication, and alignment across the whole system.
Becoming a Talisman
The pattern is only the beginning.
Each talisman is handmade in my Devon studio overlooking Dartmoor, an ancient and softly shifting landscape. Every stone, mantra, place and blessing is chosen with deep thought, aligned with energy and intention, and created with reverence and care.
Through ritual and ceremony, blessing is spoken over each piece, a practice as old as human hands shaping meaning into objects. It is this act that carries a necklace beyond adornment, and into talisman: something that holds and supports you, offering continuous spiritual companionship as you move through your own becoming.
Wearing the necklace
A talisman necklace is not reserved for any one path or identity.
Anyone can wear one.
No prior knowledge or practice is required — only a willingness to be in relationship with the piece.
You may wear it:
- during meditation or yoga practice
- throughout the day as a quiet energetic support
- layered with other pieces, guided by intuition
- looped or doubled when needed, without disrupting its flow
Different sizes carry different expressions:
- Small (4mm) — subtle, wearable daily, gently structuring your field
- Medium (6mm) — balanced between ritual and everyday presence
- Large (8mm) — deeper, more immersive, often used in meditation
There is no single correct way.
